Can anyone recommend to me a book, guide, or other written or pictorial instruction for the design and execution of a classic broom style tree, particularly a zelkova?

I have been preparing one for several years, focusing on radial root flare and a scarless trunk. Next year I think branch work can begin. But I want to do it right.

I really like the videos of Yajima-en (tanebonsai on YT) about Zelkova (or Keyaki in Japanese).

Besides that I really like this book about growing Zelkova and Acer.
It's in Japanese but it has very good illustrations and pictures.

Do you know if these are available in English?

The Kyosuke Gun series on Mini Bonsai also has a Zelkova volume. Its in Japanese also. (The pictures are in English though.)

I have a book "Bonsai Master Class" by Kunio Kobayashi that has a few pages on Japanese Zelkova broom style, starting page 98.

I'm not sure if it goes into the detail you want, but it's a decent book with lots of pictures and knowledge.

It's in English and you can get it on Amazon for pretty cheap.
