Who do I have to pay to turn the ads off?!

That's funny, when I first started browsing this site my first thought was: how is this site free?! The wealth of knowledge, experience, and helpful interaction is more than worth the minimal presence of ads for a registered user. My thanks to all those that keep this thing running!
Just being able to host so many of our pictures is amazing, and it's free for us.

There is simply no better bonsai resource online. As for the forum, it is the best, smoothest, most full-featured, and easiest to use forum I've ever been a part of.

Imagine all the beautiful bonsai that have been created, saved from death, improved, etc... just because this site exists.

Seriously, the image hosting!

In fact, this thread has inspired me to donate.

It's because knowledge, experience, and helpful interaction breed more knowledge, experience, and helpful interaction.

@Bonsai Nut, did you start this thread using a second account? That was clever marketing.
I think many of the regular users drop a few bucks his way every once in a while. THere is a whole thread somewhere with his idea behind the site, and why he is not aiming for making this a profitable site.

When you create an account you only see one ad at the top of the page, and one at the very bottom. If you just visit the site, you will see an ad every post.

This is by design - to get people to create member accounts so that they can interact with / contribute to the community. There is nothing forcing you to create an account, and you are not forced to post anything even if you do. However if you just pull down content from the site that others have put there... yeah, you will see a ton of ads.
I've never realized this. Sometimes I'm like "I cannot use this site anymore..the adsssss." Then they disappear....haha.....🥸

Just enjoy them.

The way my screen is cracked, it looked like the right side of this nose was hairy too!

Spend your day talking about things you want to see and they get better.

I keep my phone on my lap in the van. It certainly saw me performing a procedure, that's why I got this ad! 😭

@beaver created an account just so he could make that one comment? then he's just gone. Seems like a lot of hassle just for the chance to whine.
It's been fun, though.
Waste of a great screen name really. 🦫 Hopefully they return and embrace the wood life.
