The new guy is actually a girl and I seriously doubt if anyone ever thought of Audrey as uppity- she's a sweetheart.

I stopped in last week for the first time, and I wouldn't say my experience was anywhere near uppity. Maybe I didn't ask the right questions? Both of you were friendly and willing to answer the questions I had. I didn't go with purchasing any thing in particular in mind but found a nice pomegranate and cork oak pre bonsai at a comfortable price. Plus I happened to be there at lunch. Thanks for the slice!

Running a nursery must be like taking care of a modest personal collection.....multiplied by a hundred or so!!! I would expect an employee to be a little "flustered".....oddly enough, my biggest issue has always been nobody was at the cash register

Last time I was there I went out into a field of San Jose junipers and found a Shimpaku and Kaizuka hidden in the middle.

What is a Kaizuka?

It's the 'official' name of a Hollywood juniper.

Because so many Kaizukas were planted in Hollywood, they started being called by that name. But that isn't their true cultivar name.
