Whats your biggest bonsai enemy?

Chickadee's take sunflower seeds from my bird feeder and stuff them away between layers of pine bark knocking off those precious plates. Drives me crazy. It mostly happens in the fall so I stopped filling the feeders til I put the trees away for winter.

Rabbits, without a doubt. The area I live in has niches of property that are in the process of being developed. When rabbits' habitats are cleared, for some reason they relocate to my neighborhood. And they are bold little SOBs. They'll hippety-hop around the yard, look you right in the eye, and aren't one bit scared of humans. Winter 2013, I wintered down as usual: ground cover, pots on the ground, heavy mulch. This always worked fine in the past. That winter, rabbits gnawed Japanese maple roots, severely "pruned" an old boxwood, and, the coup de grace, chomped off the entire apex of an old, imported trident shohin. The bastards! To thwart them, the trees are now overwintered in a 10x10x6 chain link dog pen, lined with chicken wire with galvanized 1/2 inch groundcloth nailed to the bottom. So far, so good. Just hoping squirrels don't get any ideas!

Always wanting to do something that isn't in season. Right now, I'm collecting native trees and champing at the bit to set up my next round of air layers, when I should be focusing on grafting and repotting my pines and other conifers.

Cold stream farms, in Northwest Michiga
Never have. Heard of them though. I usually go to landscape nurseries. Isn't Coldstream farms like a wholesale type nursery? Or mail order like Gurneys?

Funny I have a 3 - 10 Leupold on Weaver mounts, cost as much as the base frame on the gun...

A 10/77 Custom Smooth barrel with no front sight allows for the use of the Gerber add on as we now live in a Urban area -

You do know that you're openly admitting to a felony... right? The ATF burned down the Branch Davidian compound over "suspicion" that they were violating NFA 1934. They never even had (or found afterwards) evidence.

How'd we get on guns? Cool! :)
My 10/22 is an old 5-digit serial number from the first year of production.
And dead stock is just fine with me.

Targets are 50 yards, aperture sights.

its a mail order place, unless you pick them up there. never heard of gurneys, ( is that the place in gaylord?) but i've not had good luck with arbor day.

Gurneys is a large mail order nursery that specializes in saplings. I got a free zelkova 2 springs ago and promptly froze it to death last winter. It was free and I kind of had an idea it wouldn't make it here.

As I recall....

The reason for the guns is because something took out the cat.....

I wonder if Carp's Joey totin neighbor has the hook up on owls?

My daughter wants a cat....I told her it has to stay outside if we get one.
Maybe a lynx! (@Woodland Spirit That's not a mispelling of Linux)Lol.
