What do you use to cut the bottom of an air layer?

@The Warm Canuck no it’s not, it’s a leader branch that was growing from the trunk of a JM in the ground. I’ll post some more photos once the sun comes up a bit more here.
The cut paste you see (which may be why you’re thinking it’s a graft) is on the chop and subsequent angled cut on the top of the original trunk. I was growing out a larger tree but decided to commit to a shorter design so decided to layer the top of the tree off instead of just discarding it.
 
I have the PocketBoy (130mm) and Gomboy (210mm) for bonsai. The blades are large teeth.

I also have a Bigboy (360mm) which is a full on pruning saw that I use when I am doing mountain bike trail work in the state park.

Once you buy the saw, you can buy replacement blades if you need.
