Had a little spare time this afternoon so, I divided up several pots of seedlings and gave them each their own containers. Species included: Ben Franklin Tree, David Elm, Medlar, Winter Hazel, Goumi, Sanshō, Bleeding Heart, and Cornus Mas.

And then there was this sneaky little thing. It was hiding among the Cornus mas ‘Redstone’. I’m not sure what species it is but, it does have “Leaves of Three”.

I’d already handled it quite a bit before I noticed the leaf pattern. I thought, if it is poison ivy, the damage has already been done. I figured what the heck and potted it up. The leaves have serrated edges so, there is a good chance it’s something else. Poison ivy can be tricky though . . . I do know that it can have serrated edges.
Looks fuzzy, could be fragrant sumac.

Here is my "what I did last week" post because I didn't have time to post it the next day.

Took my little JWP to my club meeting on Tuesday.

Thinned the needles and pruned back a few branches. Today I am painting the moss on the trunk with white vinegar to kill the moss and hopefully be able to remove it when it's dead.

Ready to be wired next month.

After soaking all the moss with white vinegar and slowly, meticulously and very carefully picking at it with fine tweezers, I got most of the moss off. The rest should due and fall off.

Lost a few plates of bark that were already loose but its looking much better

Got smart! :) I've been lifting this monster juniper to get it on something the right height to prune.
Cindy has a garden wagon.
Sooooo.... I put down the sides and now have a ROLLING support low enough to have at it.

Can even water the monster or haul into sun if it takes longer to prune than my estimate of 15 weeks. :p

Lol it's not that bad
It was pretty wild! I dunno if maybe it was the fish juice I used (fox farms wholly mackerel) as I haven't seen the Alaska brand around here, but while it was wet in the bucket I coulda sworn I heard coyotes getting closer ;)

All I can tell you is that my neighbor dog loves the Alaska brand but it gives him the run. He bit a hole in the jug and licked up an entire gallon. Then he crapped all over my neighbor’s yard. It stank for days.
