Those are good dinner fare.
Here come the biggest Coonass mystery
“How come when it is BBQ gator is meat but when fried gator is fish?”

And the kicker:
The archbishop of New Orleans officially declared gator as seafood so cajuns are allowed to eat gator during Lent.
If gator is seafood then why does it taste and chew like chicken?

Technically not 100% bonsai related, but what I put on the shelf makes it bonsaish. Put up some new shelves and Japanese prints I found in a thrift store.

I was rassling a BC and the shovel was laid down. I thought to myself: “Let’s get the BC and come back for the shovel later. I should have remembered that the swamp sometimes just swallows things and will not give it back.

I came back to the spot and could not find the shovel.
Found it!!!!
In 24 hrs, the shovel sank 6" under the mud. A few more days and I would never find it.
Picture tax will be satisfied later :)

Did you use the magnet to find it or just by feeling around?
I use the magnet and felt a little pull. I felt around with my boots and didn't find the shovel. Then I use my hand and dug under the magnet to find the shovel blade 6" under the mud. The magnet was not strong enough to pull it out. It just felt a little heavier at that spot.

THE MURALS FORETOLD HIS COMING!

Received two packages from different growers. A shimpaku juniper and the five teeny lil trident maple seedlings. Shimpaku just got set out, not large but quite happy. The little seedlings were both not potted and in muck so out of the muck they were in and into pots. Tops were a smidge wilted from shipping but the roots on all but one looked pretty good for their size. Why such large pots? It's what I had handy lol.

Somehow this scene from The Neverending Story pops in my head.

The shovel ever so slowly sank into the soft mud. The whole thing was under the surface. I felt around and detected nothing. When I pushed my hand into the mud I felt the blade and was able to grab the edge and pulled it out.
