What did you do today? Show us Pic Required

After 9 months watching my chamaecyparis thyoides dying for unknown reasons, and even though I was adviced to stop watering and bin it, today I saw some hope in the budding at the end of the branches (those white spots). Still can´t say it has survived, but somehow I feel very happy....

It was like this, a year ago:

Dug this trident. Started from seeds years ago in my bathroom over winter under a single grow light. Placed three of em together through a tile and eventually put it in the ground. Over time they fused. Will wait for buds to pop and then likely chop down further and wire up new leaders. IMG_8861.jpeg

After a stressful few days with family issues I had to do something to clear my mind, put together some clumps of zelkova and Korean hornbeam seedlings from @Maples N More Nursery.View attachment 589108
Doing stuff with my trees, or even just sitting out with them is very therapeutic for me.

On Sunday I repotted my seed-grown J. maple.

I stripped some shari into my young Kishu junipers before potting up into mostly pure pumice. Dropped some fertilizer on top and will let 'em rip for a year or two before wiring the trunk.

For next time: Wire now, bend and twist. THen later the shari. This will aid in a more interesting shari on the trunk, as al the fibres are twisted.
