Set up my rain barrel so I don’t have to drag my hose across the yard and picked up a really nice azalea… though it hasn’t been pruned in a while so I’ll definitely prune it after it flowers. I also ran out of soil so I’ll have to pick up some more tomorrow to top dress and mulch.
Thought that said "drag my HORSE across the yard" oof

Yesterday: set up the indoor winter spots for the tropicals. Started cleaning the soil, pruning and wiring as needed on each tropical before putting them in their winter spot.

Today: Finished cleanin the soil, pruning and wirimg the tropicals before bringing them all inside.
Those are quite the trunks on those Rain trees? Leopard Trees? wow. Especially that middle one.
Just cut back some Portulacaria, though looking at the photos now, did not cut back hard enough. Going back in for more taper. Might end up with stumps.

Yesterday: Finished styling and wiring on this exposed root 'Morris Dwarf ' 30 year old yardadori boxwood that I collected from a friend's yard one year ago.
I started styling at a club mentor-led workshop on Saturday, but had to leave early for an emergency at home. Finished with wiring yesterday.
I'm thinking I should start a thread for this tree?

Fish fertilizer for most of my trees. My backyard smells funny and is buzzing with flies.
My neighbor’s dog is barking furiously. I think he smelled the fish fertilizer and wanted some.
Picture tax is my swamp maple forest in recovery from being dried out completely.

Yesterday I volunteered at the bonsai collection 20241013_100549.jpg 20241013_100713.jpg

Then I carved pumpkins with the family

Then I had to run around my backyard in the dark gathering up all my tropicals because it was going to be too cold. Now they are scattered all over my house while I finish reorganizing all my grow shelves.

Our landscaper pulled this very neglected maple (vine maple?) out of our front yard today, I didn't quite know what to do with it so I just pruned a few roots and put it in some pumice. I'm not quite sure what to do with it and posted in the Maple section for advice, but with all it's been through, I'll see if I can keep it alive!
