Made this hot mess of a pot...

And this was the inspiration

At this point of my potmaking I can seldom achieve what I envision before I start and most of the time end up with whatever comes out...
It seems that I can get to the point when I can accept and even like it most of the time.
Came pretty close to getting that bouble ruffle, but had to downgrade to a single one due to the wobbliness of the pot. Well, feets and more finagling tomorrow. I think should come up a usable pot.

Your inspiration pic looks familiar 🤔😂

I had to attend a family event, so I made myself useful and set up some air layers

I was the MC for my niece traditional wedding ceremony today. The venue was a nature center. I must admit that, even during the ceremony, my eyes kept wandering to this big mature service berry with beautiful trunk and bark.

WTF! You let the 8lb go and kept the 3LB???? Did you just want a sandwich?😁😁😁
Bluefish are more oily than most fish. Prefer eating the smaller ones and I'd only brought a small cooler with me. The big one wouldn't fit. If I'd had the bigger cooler, I might have taken it home to smoke on the smoker. They are really good smoked.

Started cleaning out the old compost area for future renovation. Rebuilding the compost bins out of CMU... wood decays too quickly. These only lasted three years built out of pallets.

Also, from the shade garden area, the CMU will look much better against the fence instead of open to my pot and scrap dumping ground.

Still have plenty of compost to get through before I am in need of more.

That turned out great!

I did a cutback on my Japanese hornbeam forest. Unfortunately my photos turned out bad. Vinyl siding is a terrible backdrop. I also keep forgetting to put a lighter in for size reference. It was in my pocket the whole time.

Hoping to get it rewired soon. Keeping the apex thinned will help some of those spindly lower branches. I placed it in the dappled shade after this photo.

Then off to the art museum. My girlfriend was really excited about the Julia Margaret Cameron photo exhibit.

We also enjoyed the Idris Kahn exhibit. It's a great display of artistic growth.

I don't know much, it belongs to a club member. I did ask him about it at the show, and he told me all he knew was it was older (but wouldn't consider it an antique) and he thought it was from China.
Thank you. I thought I saw a similar one on the web, it had a grape in it too. I though it was lighter in color and did not have the lover band. Could be the same pot, could be not...
Well, for the pic - my chicken shook herself after a dust bath.

I set up some layering attempts on a happy Honeysuckle in my backyard. Long time reader, first time layering.

I snipped notches out of the top edges of the pot to thread/lay the vine through, wired down gently, then filled with soil and watered in. There's maybe 8-14 vines layered in total.

I want more hummingbird magnets in the yard and they sure love these!

Attempt number 2 at the pottery studio. Their wheels are dough better than my $100 wheel fom Amazon. Stull not quite right, but a good exercise.

And stretching without sodium silicate, which I though I had, but did not, does not give you crackle...

Found some time to update a few photos to document progress on a couple of trees in my collection or under development. Moved the vehicles out and set up the camera with proper back drop. Still a little bit of shadow, must remember to turn off the flash next time.
Two shore pines and a Tskumo Cypress. The cypress is approx 40 years of age and is in need of a trim to define the pads and lighten up the foliage for long term health. Will work on that today as time allows.IMG_1979.JPGIMG_1984.JPGIMG_1988.JPG
