What’s your latest Bonsai related purchase?

Bought this ulmus for 270 dollars. Bought by a great bonsai artist in Europe. He collected it for about 10 years ago and has trained it for all the years. It has been on my wish list for the last 4 years and he hasn't been willing to sell it before now. It has been on a show one time.

15 gallon plastic feed tub from Tractor Supply. Nothing fancy. I don't think I'll be hauling this monster to any shows. Let's see...... 15 gallons of akadama at about $10-$15 per gallon.............. Naw. Pine bark and DE for me.

Athena-- Greek goddess of wisdom, warfare and handicrafts. Fitting name for an imposing specimen.

I read that as handcuffs, and I'm so in. :)

No kink shaming! 🤣 Swett tree!

Couldn't help myself. The last thing I need is to be expanding my collection. But here it is. What I realy need is some proper soil ingredients. The picture of the label isn't great. Japanese larch kaempferi dwarf blue. Its grafted wich usually I don't like. But they did a good job (cant tell) Fell in love. Keep gazing at it.
