I remember collecting them as a boy around Wichita, but we don't have an abundance of edible shrooms in the desert. I do miss that about wetter climates.

Watch out getting too close. They can be very aggressively protective.
They cackled at me... I am pretty sure they know us.
I am surprised they are not meowing, they still cat food all the time.

My uncle in Kansas traveled down here for 2 days for a chance to see a Mexican Blue Mockingbird. Ended up with a bunch of photos, so for the man with the most species of birds sighted within the Kansas borders, he considered it a successful trip.They cackled at me... I am pretty sure they know us.

Not quite in the garden, but just in the woods about 10 yards behind my old bench area. I use that area as a vegetable garden now so maybe it's waiting on the maters to get ripe. Can you spot it?
