Welcome visitors to the garden

Not a four legged visitor, but a very welcome one—a morel.
I remember collecting them as a boy around Wichita, but we don't have an abundance of edible shrooms in the desert. I do miss that about wetter climates.

This is a great time of year for collecting, but I don’t have enough experience to trust my own ID of it. I’ll just enjoy the sight while it lasts

I didn't watch it. Just came home from Thirsty Thursday with my friends, so just skimming through stuff.
If you know any español, you know what it is by the title. But in case you don't, imagine the old cartoon theme song for Peter Parker's alter ego. And then imagine the critter that gave him his powers. 'Nuff said.

They cackled at me... I am pretty sure they know us.
I am surprised they are not meowing, they still cat food all the time. :)
They chase cats mercilessly.
My uncle in Kansas traveled down here for 2 days for a chance to see a Mexican Blue Mockingbird. Ended up with a bunch of photos, so for the man with the most species of birds sighted within the Kansas borders, he considered it a successful trip.

Not quite in the garden, but just in the woods about 10 yards behind my old bench area. I use that area as a vegetable garden now so maybe it's waiting on the maters to get ripe. Can you spot it?
