I just tore these branches off because... I felt like it. Didn't bother to get the pruners because... why. it needs to look natural. I need to learn things. Like what abuse can it handle before it dies. It might be useful for the greater good.

Do you have a point? Seriously. This is a bonsai site. If you want to talk about bonsai, great. If you want to talk about growing a bunch of trees in pots, and "pruning" them... but oh, no that's not "torturing" them in your eyes... why are you here? Go to some gardening site and talk about your "grow a bunch of trees in a large pot" and pretend it is something avant-garde or innovative. Your ignorance is annoying.

photos of your forests. lets see what you are doing. i have a mixed forest planted which i only really clip and grow. it sucks as a bonsai.
