The Tree Thread

One of mine didn't leaf out last year until July.
Is that because of getting to cold in winter? Or are those full hardy , i had a small stick still in its nursery pot but it dint leave out till july either last year we had a very late cold front last year so thats why i wonder....

Big hibiscus syriacus been in this back breaking box 6 years now
collected out of my front garden
Soon it will wake up and will be repotted branch sellection and it probably need some wires

Brian, you owe us an image! Looking at picture I agree with you. Went back and looked at tree in person, it looks a bit better. The intent of the trunk position was to reinforce rightward movement, and plan is to let lowest right branch extend a bit more to right which may help overall composition.

Below is the tree after restyle, before repot. Here potter too far to right, and pot a bit heavy and static. So we went with a more gentle pot and repositioned trunk to left.

One of my displays from our club show art RHS Wisley botanic gardens today. We are able to use a really good new building with great space and light.
This display was something a bit different I have wanted to try for a while.
The tree is an English elm, Ulmus minor.
