The Shohin Tree Thread

Like shohin, but smaller... my mame display at the UK Bonsai Association auction and show today. Trees are a triple-trunk root connected dogwood (Cornus sanguinea) and a miniature Birch forest.

The requirements of posting to this thread are to include a photo of one of your Shohin trees, so we get to keep seeing more great tree photos. This trident is about 6” tall, and headed for an appropriately-sized pot next month. I’ll need to find something to put in this Ino; it’s one of my favorite pots.

This boxwood hadn’t grown for months, I cut too much roots off but it’s finally back on track. It’s got some reverse taper, not sure what to do about it or if there’s anything I can do.

In preparation for my move across the country I had to part ways with much of my NW native collected material. I traded about 10 large fir and hemlock with Bobby Curttright for this much more transportable Tosho Juniper in a beautiful Yamaaki pot and a lovely little lodgepole pine with incredibly short needles. As much as I’ll miss my big natives it feels good to up my shohin game before moving close to Kannapolis : )
