Here's my first potential submission, if anyone thinks this is a head start then drop me a pm and I'll get this one deleted. This American Hornbeam was collected back in April 2025 and has put off a decent amount of growth, but almost all on one side on the portion I want to keep, so I think It would be a good candidate for a raft, roots willing.
Photos from time of collection, did a bit more chop back when I got it home, that I didnt photograph.

All I did was some light wiring as an upright, and late summer I did a notch cut to see if it would help avoid dieback, and help it heal faster leaving the apex to grow unhindered. Not sure if the roots are going to allow me to lay it on its side. Will get recent photos once leaves drop, but it isn't much further along than this.
