Squirrels targetting ONE of my jades only

I don’t have a photo and it’s night time now but I bought a dog kennel cage and put my succulents in there to keep the squirrels away this year. Also my neighbors have chickens this year that keep coming over and eating stuff- another pest to worry about.
I do love my squirrels too so I gotta find a way to cohabitate!
Found a photo- this allows the rain to still water them but offer protection from the critters.
