Silvester (scott pine) need an advice

Correction, the PO called me 10 minutes ago and he said that this is not the same Scott pine and now he is not sure if it's a Scott pine, he said he doesn't know....
That's really confusing me

Sleuthing can be tricky!

Don’t think a repot right now will solve the growth issue this year. Next spring would be fine.

It seems the tree is gathering critical mass, just hasn’t shifted the energy downwards yet.

Would look for opportunities to cut back to strong inner buds in the apex appropriately… after candles have hardened and again in late fall to help shift energy downwards.

Think about shifting to 1/2 strength Miracle gro (see image it is sold in your area) instead of 20:20:20. Use with humic/fulvic acid and kelp. Ensure the foliage is doused with the combined liquid fertilizer each time… seeing that needles are dry before night.

One final thought. How much daily sun Is this tree getting?

Cheers

That is my idea also...
Strangely the stronger candle are on the lower part not on the top part.
Miracle Grow here is impossible to find, Switzerland, Italy, France I can order only this in UK should be the same, so use it with humic/fulvic acid and kelp on the leafs and soil every 2 weeks, plus the solid one?

About the sun, I have the opposite problem, garden facing South and plants take sun basically from 9am to 6pm, during the hot days I cover the pot with a with humid tissue

How high up the mountains are you Max?
I don't know Basel that well, but my memory tells that parts of it can be high elevation, that might cause high UV and high sun intensity which dampens auxins and creates small and compact growth.
Did you treat this pine with your back budding powder as well? Because it can have the same effect.

216mt Above the Sea

Ahhhhhh oh yes but only once last year, but the other one I treated have long candles and plenty of life.
But could be, the symptoms are smaller buds ?
Look, Mugo and 2 ABP

It differs per plant of course, I have some plants that stay affected by it, but generally pines are not showing any signs of treatment. Just wanted to make sure, if you overdosed them, this could be a life long situation.

216m above sea level isn't that much, luckily. Well, for me it is, since I work below and live just above sea level and we have no mountains, but that's a me-problem!

It still is a curious case that has my interest. My pines show miniaturization when their root space is heavily restricted and when water doesn't penetrate the soil well. All my pines with tiny growth have this in their soil.
Do you have anything to probe the soil with? A chop stick or something? Maybe see if its getting enough water in the right locations.

I repotted 2 years ago, removing 3cm around and 3cm under, then filled with my usual mix ( 30% of Kiryu, aka, and pumice and 10% of biochar), the center soil untouched was still good and the water is very fast to go through the pot.

We will see after the new grows are out

Hmm… wasn’t that site a Swiss provider? Said Basal was included. Oh well.
In any event you’ll want the solid granules and mix with water and the fulvic and kelp to make a solution. 1/2 strength Miracle gro.

Best

In that case perhaps the trees need Pelletier slow release fertilizer?

Oh yes but it is a USA shop but they shop here, this is why I can't find here, I will do the order this afternoon, did not pay attention to the website address, thank you so much.
So I will do your recept every two weeks, and continue to use the solid like Biogold or Hanogokoro on the soil

I'm thinking this might be part of the problem for you. Can you verify that some water stays in the soil by jamming a piece of wood, like a meat skewer or a chopstick under the root base? Check it an hour after watering, it should be wet or damp. If that is not the case, I think it's not the nutrients, but a lack of water.
If all your trees are behaving well, the most likely thing that's going on is something particularly about this plant. Maybe a soil air pocket or something.

That is the final part, in some days will open the new needle the candles will not elongate more, I don't know if maybe is a variety of Silvester that act in this way.
I have only this silvester around.
Last I have used solid fertilizer until half may, and after solid plus 20-20-20 liquid every 2 weeks, plus of course fulvic acid and kelp extract every 15 days, this year I was thinking to do the same regime.
Perhaps is just that tree has very small root system, Also may not be recovered from repotting yet. It will generate longer needles but twice weekly liquid feeding should increase vigor. But stop as needles start to elongate to lessen this problem and after harden off can increase feed to once a week until end of watering season.☺️

Thank you, so I have to feed the plant twice a week until the needle start to elongate, and wait until they will be harder, then start with once a week, right ?
In any case, now, longer needle are not a problem.
