I hear them called ghost pipes, usually a good sign that fungi are near or close behind in terms of timing. If we keep having as much rain as we've had, we should have a good picking season.

Ghost pipes. A well earned name. Very interesting plants.

I’ve seen these in the wild growing at the base of tree’s a lot. This is the first time I’ve seen on one of my bonsai. It’s a little JM. The back nub is a root and the ones in the front I think are a fungi. Forgive my crappy speedy wiring. Anyone know the name?

Turns out my herb garden doesn't like the grow herbs.

Except for parsley.

And these.

Can anyone tell me if I should remove them immediately, or keep them forever?
Figured this might be the place to ask. Thanks!

I think they are harmless. Not sure if edible. If your concern is with kids and pets removal is a safest way.
Do they kid if roll up and turn in to black inky fluid? If yes, could be shaggy main mushroom.

Kids are pretty good at not eating random stuff they find. Better than I am actually.🤨
First I've seen of them, so can't give much more detail. They've opened up more and cracked around the edges since discovering them last night, so I suspect they'll be putting out spores soon.

I swapped the old soaker hoses for misting soakers on the herb and flower gardens this year in hopes that more thorough water coverage would help seedlings along. So far it's helped, and mushrooms is the unintended consequence.
