Had a damp night, just enough to keep the surface wet, but once the sun rose, the grass dried up. Hopeful for some real rain. We had a real spring (winter/summer transition) this year. Now we're having an actual autumn. Are we getting honest-to-goodness seasons? Whatever the case, I'm enjoying a few weeks now of mild temperatures and beautiful weather before the winds pick up.

I'm unscientifically predicting a late, short winter with average temperatures.

Looks like the 90s are gone for the year. Ports (and a Ficus benjamina with a couple variegated jade) are still outside, but potted up from the grow bed and placed in two 10 gallon aquariums, easy to bring in and out until it stays too cold during the daytimes.

First sighting of a large flock of Sandhill cranes Sunday while visiting our local "zoo." Screenshot_20251028_223745_Weather.jpg
37° at 8 am this morning. It's that time of year when I wear a heavy pullover to work, tank top and shorts to home. 91° early this afternoon.

A little cooler for a couple days. Should be a nice chill Monday morning when I get to work at 6am. No rain in the forecast.

Hide-n-seek time here. Seek the sun and hide for the rain. This is the first sign of winterweather arriving and most of winter will we have this. drizzling or raining. Dry enough to walk around with a light waterrepellen jacket. Temps moving around between 10F and 60F

Well.. looks like we might be in for a dip in temps finally too. Fall is ending. Winter is coming.

All of next week chances of frost, peeking on Friday with -6c / 21F. (But .. forecasts a week away are VERY unreliable).

Right now around 55F, drizzle

Ah, yes, drizzle. Snoop Dawg's favorite weather condition, fo' shizzle.

Dry here, as per normal. Not expecting any rain for Wednesday or Thursday, as you said, @leatherback, extended forecasts are unreliable. They only get current conditions correct half the time. I hope they are right about not having too much wind.

Sitting under 2 blankets, after working 8 hours straight on my trees and getting the last tropicals inside. Overnight first frost in my garden expected (although regionally frost hit mid-october for the first time. Rest of the week.. Overnight frost, scratch the icing from the car in the morning, allow it to thaw out in the morning, get rained upon in the afternoon so that over night a nice icing can form.
Sigh.

We had an inch of snow this time last week, it was gone in a few days. For the last two days (friday & saturday) we've had unseasonably warm weather and windy weather 20mph steady with gusts up to 40mph. Reminds me to check my BBQ grill cover. :)

Now I feel guilty. We're having one of the nicest autumns I've experienced. Actually, the whole year has been beautiful. And I'm predicting a late, mild winter.

Weather channel says hazy as I look around skies clearer than usual.
Not sure if you're referring to me, but I know where I live. :) I love MI, lots of outdoor activities.
So, don't waste any time/energy feeling guilty. :)

I was referring to you and @leatherback. Not actually guilty, but it does make me thankful for the weather we are having. Usually, between the end of October and early March, we have miserable winds. Dry and warm, then dry and cool, dry and cold, ending with dry and cool again. We've (so far, fingers crossed) had only a few slightly unpleasant breezy days. Nothing like what we've usually seen by this time of year. I brought my benjamina in three weeks ago, with my bougie and  afras. I had no idea how much I was jumping the gun.
