Any examples of clump-style? I have an air layer I'll remove in the fall or spring with maybe 5 trunks starting at the same point at the base of the air layer. Need some inspiration on how to style it - keep the trunks straight, wire some movement, or just cut them short... all options for this air layer.
Also have a few cuttings from the same Sekka, and a Chirimen in ground. I saw a post and people were wondering the difference. Sekka grows branches in a single plane from both sides of the branch until it is let to grow pretty long, then grows branches in all directions. Consequently, good cuttings only come from the tips of branches left to grow OR you have to wire and twist the branches to make a trunk with 3D branching. Chirimen pretty much always grows branches in all directions and has the reputation of being more vigorous. The one I have in ground is growing more vigorously, but it is in ground, so that is a confounding variable that could explain the vigor at least as much as genetics. Otherwise, the two are identical as far as I can tell.
