Brian Gumble? “Interesting Michael- you obviously are retired for this 2020 olympics , but since you’ve been in this previously , what’s going through Bjorn and Ryan’s heads as they mentally prepare for this race to Water , Decandle (if Black/Red Pine) and fertilize. Interesting the design of the course”
Michael - “ Oof , yeah that certainly brings back memories. There’s a lot to block out and much to concentrate and focus on, I was thinking about my fundamentals- candle prune and needle pluck. Even down to the use of my equipment. Are my Kaneshin scissors sharpened , is the gasket on my watering nozzle tight to get perfect flow of water, do I have the correct NPK ratio fertilizer for all possible stages and species that could be on the course. I’m excited to see this high level manifest itself today , and I’m nervous for them.”

I love the NFL and the Olympics. I watch every chance I get. If you don't like it, well, ok.

I have noticed those bonsai trees in the background a lot. They are 1000 x better than anything I have, so I thought it was pretty cool how they had them all lined up.

Yeah, do not watch sports; To me, sports is something to do, not to watch. But the fact that Bonsai are shown globally can only be good for visibility of our great hobby. Even if they, cleverly, did not ask Kimura for his trees to be on set for weeks on end.

People... we were talking about bonsai on the sets for the 2020 Olympics. Why do we have to drag politics into it?
I'm gonna say this is what did it:
sick of being lectured during every game, stuffed down our throats, sending sporting representatives to international events that dont even support our anthem
and or respect the flag. they forget that demand and consumers get to decide, and the #s look real bad per those viewership stats. they might even try to keep pushing it lol and people fear they wont understand why they cant make millions playing a sport anymore because of it soon. its wild dynamics. the free market is a wonderful thing and rare in this world, but you have to be careful with it, no matter how much they try to subsidize it. just ask Kodak back in the late 80s or 90s

you may see some headlines about how they got viewers back, or 13% up from 2020 playoffs, but they fail to mention that 2020s #s were scary for them, so a bump up from there is still not good, and that doesnt factor in the entire season #s, just playoffs... worst numbers in like 20 years. 35%+ like i mentioned, almost one in two former viewers worldwide just shut if off, like me.

But keep in mind it was in response to a request for explanation only
But bro, you could've easily responded with something simple like "I don't agree with their current agenda" or anything else along those lines. But instead you went on this long tangent listing off reasons why you aren't showing support and acting like everyone cares whether you do or don't support American athletes or the National Football League.

yeah it's kind of a bummer how things shook out but go figure. they knew they could sell the shit out of Tony. Remember how big a deal Danny Way dropping in out of a helicopter was? That was him, right?
Not really. Part of the pro-skating game is well, "game." Tony Hawk knew how to sell it and capitalize on it. I was in Vegas for some reason and Way had a big set-up outside the Hard Rock where I was staying--

yeah, hawk definitely knew how to sell himself in ways the others didn’t

Please stop. I don't want this to devolve into a round of juvenile finger-pointing. Just let it go.
Does a thumbs up not count as a pointing finger? 🧐 because your post alone has attracted several juveniles already!

As a hardcore skaterboarder back in the day, I always thought it should be an olympic sport. Last night I was (shamefully) amazed at these 13 year old girls just tearing up handrails. 😵🤯😁

Tony knew how to sell himself, and he has a cool sellable name TONY FREAKING HAWK DUDE!!!
Ya know, if he was Ernie Grabostksi or something....it just wouldn't have the same ring.

Mark Rogowski was top 5 for sure in the eighties....did not age well.
