Bought the Ridgid 18 V reciprocating saw Model R86478 in June last year. Have been using it for BC collection and around the house. The blade holder broke to pieces yesterday. I am quite disappointed. My use of the saw is moderate in my estimate. As a common practice, I don't use battery powered tools unless I am somewhere that has no electricity. Compared to that, my corded Porter Cable Tiger Saw (reciprocating saw with a swivel head) have been used heavily for dock construction cutting big timber and hurricane cleanup cutting sections of houses and even refrigerator and freezer to pieces with zero issue.
Well. At least now I have a chance to test that Ridgid Lifetime Warranty.

It seems like I have to replace my Worx sawsall annually but I treat it brutally and look at its failure as my fault.

Well. My saw was fixed and returned to me in 10 days.

That warranty is pretty good then. I use my little Dewalt sawzall for all kinds of abuses, including cutting out yamadori junipers. It’s holding up well so far.

It is. Shipping is totally covered by them.
