Rudd’s Pseudo-Apprenticeship at Bonsai Jidai

Thank you for sharing these photos! A ton of work that you should be proud of.

I think the designs could be a little more refined... but you keep saying that is David's style, so as long as you are aware of it, that's all that matters. I wouldn't be wiring some of that material because it would already be gone :)

I tried to talk him into letting me remove a couple of the major branches on this one. No dice. Thats okay though, more branches to practice my wiring on.

Nice work Ryan! The big California was impressive, a ton of wiring. Any photos of you guys removing that giant tree in David's garden? That must of been a nightmare...

This is a live demo I did at our club show this month. Took about 1.5 hours, someone from the Phoenix club bought it at the silent auction, (if you’re on here, hope its still alive! Lol)

I got an action shot of your demo (thought I had more but I guess this was the only one):

Thanks for sharing!

All I can say is that I am hugely impressed. Those are some stunning bonsai you putting out.

Here’s another personal tree. I got this azalea 2 years ago for free from home depot, they were about to throw it out. It was about a 3’ ball of spindly branches, I chopped it way back, and it mostly died, but it did sprout a little. This year I styled it and its finally giving me some decent flowers. Still a ways to go with it.

I love the carving -- with the Godzilla pot -- it makes me smile!
