Rocky Mountain Juniper: No guts, no glory...

this reminds me ..... the tree still seems to be alive and showing no signs of ill health .... not yet ..... even seems to have a little active growth ...

Great to hear. I'm still waiting for that collecting blog post....

Brother... you have trees I am dieing to work on...lol So it'll be a win win the next time we see you... I hope you don't have noise ordinances. Three grinders can make a lot of noise. lol

I'm looking forward to it!!! Our sound ordinances are prty relaxed... .though I have gotten in trouble at our coffee shop for some concerts being to loud... :/ ... BUT I'm certainly willing to get in trouble for bonsai! :)

You and me both brother! lol

I'm currently up to my eyes with work, charitable work, watering, and yards and yards of silk that is being turned into a ren faire gown... and then there's Eric's pants... and a fighting gambeson for a friend....lol I suck at everything else right now. lol

BUT it's going to get better soon, I've only got 8 days to the faire!!!! YIKES! lol

Thanks for your patience though, I hope you'll find it worth the wait.

Warmly,

Victrinia

Hey, I completely understand. Seems like things always get busier as the summer wraps up.

Eric, I hope you realize how lucky you are. Of course you do, you wear your heart on your sleve, and have shown it. Good job.

That was one radical bend. I had to bump this. I'm really anxious to see more work on this one.

Had me all excited, thought Vic was back posting again. Hopefully, I'll see her up at the weyerhaeuser collection tomorrow so we can talk and work on trees. :) Truely a very special
person....

Ask her how this tree made out, I have been thinking about this lately due to a long thick branch on my San Jose I was hoping to do something like this to it.

Master of puppets! (Metallica reference but in a bonsai context of course)

I decided to try this technique on my San Jose and it worked real well on a branch that really needed to be pulled back but at 1 and 3/4's inches thick it was like a steel bar. Surprisingly when hollowed out in this manner I was able to bend this almost 2 inch thick branch with ease.

Check it out here. http://bonsainut.com/forums/showthread.php?12852-Ooh!!-wow-lt-WTF-San-Jose-Juniper-advice

I hope it heals well and survives, but if not I can always blame it on Victrinia ...
