Pseudocydonia, Chinese Quince

Has it flowered for you yet?

I have one in the ground, about 3.50 metres tall, approx. ten feet for those who stil count in colonial units of measurements.

Some "flowering trees" are interesting for bonsai display because there are many flowers close to each others (like Prunus sp. or Chaenomeles), which is not the case for Chinese quince. So I think the bark and the Autumn leaves are the best features, not the flowers.

Cleaned up and ready for the show next week. I have decided to try entering something new at every show to force me to advance material or get it gone. This one is coming along nicely. Heian Kouso pot, David Knittle stand, and erodium in a pot by Ron Heinen.

Are these Chinese quince slow to bud out in the spring? I have three small ones I bought last year, kept protected last winter, but see no budding or green anywhere. Yes, I kept them moist:)

Are you guys making fun of me and my trees?? My trees don't appreciate the insults either. They wanted to let you know

"THAT WE ARE NOT BUDDING NOW" ;)!!

and it could have something to do that I live in a zone 5-6 and you clowns live zones 7A-7B & 7B-8A...so there! It's still snowing and below freezing hear at night and 40-50 during the day.

Have a warm day for us please!
