I like the idea, but would second that air layering should be OK given that you might just air layer off the seedling.

How do you define seedling? Like actual first year growth only?

Yeah anyone has to use their seedlings as they like. They can air layer that seedling but the seedling can’t be the air layer . I define a seedling in this contest as anything that is not taller than 2 feet and thicker than 3 cm. It can also be from cuttings . Everything will be in the rules

The ones with Nutella and bananas are deciduous . If you mean Crepe Myrtle then yeah they are deciduous .

I think you could run the contest! Make up some rules and go for it. BTW cuttings on some species could be more than 2 yrs old...
