Possible fungus, harmful or beneficial!

So I just noticed this white substance on my new pre bonsai Juniper. Is this a harmful fungus? If so, is a systemic fungicide sprayed on the tree effective and safe? Would I also need something that could be absorbed in the soil? Thanks in advance 🙏 070A20DC-F7FE-4F2E-86B1-4E106B882292.jpegCDB97080-1CF2-4095-B9DB-E097451EB9F3.jpeg

Doesn't look like fungus.

I vote with @TomB and @sorce.
Looks like alkali deposits to me. Very common around my area, and I see it on my trees routinely.

How long have you noticed it happening?
Do you see it on the soil also?
What type of juniper is it? It may be harmless, possibly even a bit beneficial to it.

Many times an alkali build up like that isn't too harmful and you can just brush it off with a tooth brush or the like, but after a while it can really raise the pH of the soil if it gets out of control.
Make sure you're watering all the way through the soil to prevent that. Maybe a good solid flushing of the soil once in a while.

To completely prevent it, you could water with collected rain water, filtered water, or dilute your tap water with distilled water to minimize the alkalinity of it.

I don't like a collapsing socialist economy.

If the old employees were saying, "when they hire new people at $5 an hour higher we automatically got the same raise", I would be on board.
Sadly it's the opposite.

No wonder no one wants to work.

No budget for doors opposite the driver like the safety protocols put in by UPS and FedEx years ago....

But uuuuuhhhh.......

OSHA knows....listen to them!

I hope while our trees are sleeping this winter, we wake up.

For no reason in particular keep in mind you can "Ignore" posts from certain profiles. One of the great wonders of the internet.

Looks like limescale from watering to me also.

Do you really want to help support Bayer Chemicals profits by buying their products and spraying them on everything needlessly before getting a proper diagnosis!
