I mainly catch them at my cottage . On a small lake . That would. Be a very good one there . On the St Lawrence where they gorge on invasive gobies . That 3.6 lbs is Average. PB is 6.4 . 20 lbs bag in a tournament be lucky to make the top 20 . Drop shot and rigs on the bottom and hang on they don’t want to come up . Or they rocket to the surface . And mess up the light tackle needed to get them . Brake your heart but a blast
Wow!!! That's amazing, man.
A 3.6lb smallie in MD would be a rare monster. Our state record smallie is 8.2lb from a reservoir, in 1974.
Everything here is so over fished and constantly pressured, it's a real joy to hook anything that bites.
I usually get the creek smallies on crankbaits and jerkbaits.

Wait... is WAWA something special? Coming from NJ wawa is pretty much our state convenience store.
Do your convenience stores have a stuffed moose on the porch and a giant Goose perched above the Visitors centre? Can you still buy pickles in the barrel from your convenience stores. WAWA has it all.;)

When I located fish as in caught one . I would slow down . Try a drop shot or a wacky senko . Smallie s are a schooling fish . Most curious Fresh water fish . Crank bait and jerk bait good search bait . Also spinner bait . If the sun is not bright and there is a chop . Deadly option .

If you are intrigued with old, historical and intricate cemeteries, enjoy.
1st as you enter the South gate to the Sleepy Hollow cemetery, you enter at the Old Dutch Church
and its graveyard.
(A graveyard is on site at a church, and a cemetery is a public domain for enterments (spelling).
Even if you have no fondness for such places, the beauty is remarkable, especially with aged Japanese maples.
There are over 46,000 enterments in the Sleepy Hollow cemetery.

The church was built from brick that was shipped from Holland. Some still visible.

The chandeliers and sconces are all candle powered (no electricity - though there is a pipe organ).

The pulpit is not used now, and the wooden object over it is a baffle to direct the pastors voice outwards.
More to follow in the graveyard.
