Here's another angle to consider: "Long COVID," the deal where it gets hold of you and just keeps on kicking the crap out of you -- not killing you, just taking a wrecking ball to your daily health & well-being (& career, education, social world).
Guess how much fun that will be. Trying your damnedest to go on having a life, and earn a living, and have people you love understand instead of telling you to change your attitude, or take up running.... Discovering who drops you because you can't keep up. Finding out just what a joy it is to apply for SSD.
Does it sound like I have a clue? I do, and the virus I have is TAME by comparison. Am I getting the jabs? YOU BET YOUR SWEET ASS. There's enough data, now, to show that I'm likely to have the same passing symptoms as, say, my 93-year-old parent -- for about a week, vs. the two days she experienced.

I hate getting shots, I really do but the potential alternative is a lot worse
