Tony Tickle posted on facebook today, and it sounds like we're loosing Peter Adams shortly. :(

Pray for his family and friends. I don't know him personally, but he made a huge impact in the bonsai world and on my love of bonsai.

Oh no! I am very saddened to hear this news Dan. He is a treasure of the bonsai world. My prayers are with him and family.

My heart goes out to family and friends of Peter. I only know of him through books and articles. And of course images of his wonderful trees. I am deeply saddened by this news.

His knowledge will be with us forever. This is one of the first bonsai books I bought.

I had the pleasure of meeting him at a demo he did for our club (Santa Cruz Bonsai Kai) a few years ago. He will be missed, my prayers go out to his family.

For those concerned about Peter Adams and who hadn't heard, I wanted to pass along a message from his wife, Kate. Peter is recovering and is looking forward to being released from the hospital soon. He will return home after some physical therapy. Her letter is published in our club newsletter:

Glad to share some good news. I first met Peter when he and Dan Robinson had their partnership at Elandan Gardens many years ago and remember him with great fondness. I still have several trees I bought from him during those days (nearly 20 years ago now) and was greatly saddened when I read this posting. I read her note with great relief.

Awesome! I'm very glad he pulled through!!!

Indeed great news!! Very happy to hear and thank you for the update!

I just saw on facebook, bonsai focus said Peter Adams died in his sleep on the 24th. :(

just to keep the issue confused, our seattle bonsai club met last night. The couple that opens up their house to Peter and kate for our area students of his to meet with reported he is in therapy
having to relearn to walk. So there you go....

I am so sorry to hear this news. He is a real treasure of the bonsai world. We will miss him! May he rest in peace.

Hope someone can confirm which of these is true.

The facebook source appears to be Peter's wife, Kate, and her post can be read over on IBC. I'm afraid this is likely to be factual. RIP Peter. I'm sorry I never got to meet you.

This is very sad news. His books will continue to be important to me, as well as many others.

Good thought and memories for a wonderful one of a kind who will be missed. Prayers for family and friends.
