No idea what, if anything, to do with this ugly thing...

I rescued this during some landscaping. It was hacked back and ripped out of the ground and by all rights should have died, but I liked the shape of the trunk (at the time) so I tossed into a pot and forgot about it. This year after way too much time staring at it, I can't figure out what, if anything, to do with it. So I figured I would ask for ideas before I get rid of it.

And I am also noticing some (termite?) holes are starting to appear in various places along the trunk?!?!

About the only thought I had was to maybe do a drift wood style keeping only the second branch (circled in blue).

I'd use the entire trunk and that top left bunch of branches to start a canopy.

IMO...

There is enough movement in the lower trunk to make up for that straight part to canopy...
The right angle and bringing the bramches down can help.

Probably is if you’ve done it before, but I’ve never grafted.

I figure if you have a plant with that potential it’s a good idea to go for it. Get a teacher to help you if you haven’t done it yourself yet.

I was wondering if you tried grafting yet is all.
I haven't done any but may need to learn for a pine I have.
