Neglected Black Pine Help

Being my first foray into pruning a Japanese pine, I am sure to have made a myriad of mistakes. This said, I did quite a bit of pruning, and hope that I didn’t totally screw it up. To me, it looks far better than it did, Hopefully in the coming years, I can make it appear like a Japanese garden tree.

IMHO you have a good start, check out some of the books or bonsai techniques on how to get a double flush etc. Enjoy!

Here are some pictures from a local nursery I am lucky to live by for inspiration

Wish I could have bought one like that and just maintain, were I am I can’t find it

Did some clearing out tonight. Going to do a bit more tomorrow then leave it alone. It has too much real estate in my head. I want to see the trunk from all sides and top to bottom. Hope I don’t kill it but my mind is made up.
You know thats a red pine (pinus resinosa) and not a Black pine (Pinus nigra), right?

No, I did not know that. IT was sold to me as a black pine. I believe it is Pinus Thunbergii. I can see hoe it would appear to be a red pine after I hacked it up but did you see the original pictures?
