Just out of curiosity...Where do you get all these great materials? Thanks. Tommy

In my area, there are a lot of old houses with pomegranate trees. On my way to work, I always look around. If I find a house doing demolition and it has the tree which can be turned into the bonsai, I will stop by to ask for the tree. Craigslist is also a good source to get great materials freely! . But I believe in destiny!

The winter is almost over here, but outside temperature is still too cold for me!!!! Standing inside the house and looking out to the garden, I recognized this pomegranate looked pretty good! So I had to get out and took the picture ! The tree was under the late afternoon sunlight with quivering young leaves!

I am trying to find out why this tree keeps having the early flower buds since the time of cutting. It was a big cutting 3 years ago. In its 1st year, it already had a lot of flowers with fruits. This phenomenon is very strange for pomegranate! Since then, it has been flowering every year.

Today, I found 2 flower buds on it! All of other pomegranates are still in vegetative phases at this time!

These two trees are having a lot of new shoots now. I will start doing selective pruning from now on. I will use wiring as needed.




p/s: will prune them in May .
