I have a mulberry stump that I collected a few years ago and it has a lot of dead wood that is slowly rotting. I've always been thinking whether I should try to preserve it or just let it do it's thing. I really haven't done anything to it before. Do you think it would be worth trying to stop it?IMG_20250326_195108.jpgIMG_20250326_171732.jpgIMG_20250329_161639.jpgIMG_20250329_161649.jpgIMG_20250329_161757.jpg

Personally I love trees with hollows, but I would try to remove some of the central rot just to prevent any fungal establishment.. but I think it has tons of characters from the loss of firm established hardwood

I like those things too, but this is rotting quite fast due to the position and size. I know it's a very weird material for bonsai, but I don't mind it.
