Great song!
Just the tap root? How do Scots react towards the jbp seedling stem cutting technique? An update.
Not quite a year out.
I put them in these cups in pure D.E. for a couple years then most if not all will go into colanders.
I ended up with 48.
None of these got ate because they were encased in ice. Literally.
All survived that and it's been a week since putting them in cups and all of the buds are opening up.
I barerooted them and cut the tap roots off.
Tough little buggers.

Yeah, you can do it. They are slower to kick on afterwards (than JBP) but they do get there eventually and I got decent roots from them. I did it again this year on some more seedlings and they also seem to have survived the process fine... I haven't checked the roots on them, gotta wait another few months (it's summer here). Here's what the ones I did last year looked like when I potted them up in preparation for summer. How do Scots react towards the jbp seedling stem cutting technique?

from what I understand most of the Pine species adapt to this method quite well.Just the tap root.
Don't know about how they would take to the cutting method.
The V.C. have been quiet this winter.
They come out when its real cold.
