M. Frary's 6 year scots pine contest thread.

One year to soon?
I don't grow them from seed. Plenty of 1-, 2- and 3 year old seedlings in our forests. They go directly into my garden in growing beds. Grow like weeds in my climate.
The things grow wild here too.
I want complete control from the get go.
Scots pine are my favorite pine. Mugo is a very close second.
Scots becaus they are budding machines.
If they grew in Japan they would be called the king of bonsai.

I don't know the auvignon blue cultivar though.
I do have 'norsk typ' scots, and italian varieties that are 50% smaller than their northern cousins, but when googling auvignon blue, this thread is the only result that pops up.
Care to elaborate?

Got them from scheffields. It's a cultivar that is used in the Christmas tree trade

@M. Frary maybe you wanna trade a few of those blues for my standard green ones? Mine are all grown from collected seeds from park trees around me. maybe they are already blue, who knows but they defo look many shades of green not blue

We could work something out.

I started a few hundred scots of the "hamata" strain this spring. Have only played around with french blue and Auvergne so far. Did not like foliage and needle spacing on auvergne.

They are more commonly known as French Blue. All of my Scots are French Blue, Mike; one of the Scots you got from me is French Blue if not both of them, one of them could be Anglia, the little double trunk could be Anglia.
