The one I collected I just cut around it cut he tap root and put it in my growing bed - I was pretty harsh and it came through fine!

I would really like to find Liquidambar formosana and try it out as well. I plan on having both L. Styraciflua and L. orientalis bonsai at some point and am starting with locally collected seedlings for the American sweetgum.
