Hi there! As an illustrator, I think the best way for me to understand bonsai is as a living composition. And as a newcomer to the Bonsai space, I desperately wish to study the compositions others have made. I'd love to see images of stylings you're proud of and would like to see roughly rendered in a sketch or more depending on my time and energy. This is mostly an excuse for me to combine my interests and give me something to study with my drawing as I haven't been keeping up with my practice as of late.

To sum up, if you'd be interested in seeing a drawing of your favorite bonsai you've worked on, send it here and I might sketch something out!

(Also, I feel I aught to specify that there's no guarantee that posting an image here will automatically get you a drawing. I'm just doing this for my understanding of the form and gesture of Bonsai)

Cool idea, I have nothing for you at this time that's worth sketching, but it's nice of you to offer!
Are you planning on doing it digitally or pencils, or pens perhaps?

I'm a bit burnt out on my digital work so I'm planning on using my traditional media! Some pen or pencil work might be just the thing I need to reduce my stiffness as of late. (I might even whip out the watercolors if I'm particularly inspired)

Not sure what you need to work with but I'll offer a Japanese maple for starters:

This little trident has much less structure. Not sure if that's better for sketching or not

Thank you for sharing these lovely trees! I had to get something done of the Japanese maple right away, the winter structure is very striking! I hope I’ve captured it well. I’ll include the pen drawing as well as the initial sketch
