Hey everyone I just bought this little cutting grown kiyohime maple online. I have been letting it hangout in the shade to acclimate it to my zone I’m in zone 7a in Canada. Was just curious if I would be okay still to repot it sometime next weeks after it has adjusted to my climate. It is currently in a 4 inch nursery container so I was going to put it in an 8” mica to push growth a little bit. Currently think I want to go with a broom style as I love the way they look. Open to any suggestions.
Thanks, Poolie

No reason to repot now, it looks to be a good sized pot for its current stage of development.

Once roots have nearly filled the pot is the time to upsize the container.

I agree with Mike. Up potting it now could actually even slow it down. Spring as the buds are pushing is always the best time to re-pot and work the roots.

Okay thanks everyone I will just keep taking care of it the way it is and keep everyone posted with the progress

Okay thanks there are some dead parts of the tree I’m assuming from pruning before me was wondering if I would be okay to trim some of the dead parts back to the trunk in the coming weeks here.
Thanks Poolie

Hey all a couple pics to update the progress seems to be growing pretty good I fertilize twice a week. Was just wondering if it would be beneficial to prune once the early spring growth hardens off.

Thanks, Poolie

Don’t fertilize twice a week meant once every two weeks lol
