No hard rules.
Just post your best tropical trees and give us the names of the species.

I will start this thread with two favorites : Jabuticaba and Pitanga.

First, the Jaboticaba (or Jabuticaba as we call it in Brazil), in a Shugo Izumi pot:

Plinia cauliflora, the Brazilian grapetree, jaboticaba or jabuticaba, is a tree in the family Myrtaceae, native to Minas Gerais, Goiás and São Paulo states in Brazil.
Related species in the genus Myrciaria, often referred to by the same common names, are native to Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Peru and Bolivia.
Sometimes it is known as Myrciaria cauliflora, its older name.

Then the Pitanga, Eugenia Uniflora, overpoted to thicken up, on a Sergio Onodera pot:

Eugenia uniflora, the pitanga, Suriname cherry, Brazilian cherry, Cayenne cherry, cerisier carré, monkimonki kersie or ñangapirí, is a flowering plant in the family Myrtaceae, native to tropical South America’s east coast, ranging from Suriname, French Guiana to southern Brazil, as well as Uruguay and parts of Paraguay and Argentina.
It is often used in gardens as a hedge or screen.
The tree was introduced to Bermuda for ornamental purposes and has also been introduced to Florida.

Now post yours!

Fake organe, Solanum Pseudocapsicum. Not sure it is my best tropical. But my Brazilian Ladies do not compare with @Clicio s brazzie natives. So.. I thought, lets show something else.

Tidbit.. THis was grown from seed.

Nice!
I didn't know the species, beautiful dangerous fruit...
After googling it:
"Solanum pseudocapsicum is a nightshade species with mildly poisonous fruit.
It is commonly known as the Jerusalem cherry, Madeira winter cherry, or, ambiguously, "winter cherry".
The plant is perennial in zones up to USDA 8. Native to Peru and Ecuador, they can survive frosts and cold weather.
Jerusalem cherries are possibly poisonous to cats and some birds."

Very cool plant! But, with a max life of 10 years, I hope you aren't investing time in something that is going to betray you in the end :(

I believe I saw a progression thread on this one no? It’s awesome!
I just recently got my first bougie 🙂
Possibly. Its found here on the forum somewhere. Thank you. I had a few friends in the hobby try to discourage me from this mistake of a purchase.

Bougies are great! Congrats...

Dwarf powderpuff...given to me by a friend this June. Who found it at a landscape nursery and brought it into the journey of bonsai a few years back. One I always admired. So when she downsized she offered this one to me. Still young in development in this hobby of ours. But its surpassing my admiration. It blooms non-stop! Even when brought in under lights.

Absolutely mesmerizing when the berry like bud opens. Never gets old. FB_IMG_1594428128477.jpg
