Itoigawa juniper Stock

Cool beans there BVF-san.

I have something right up your alley coming up on the blog. Wait till you see whats going on in the central valley in the next few years.

Here is a sneak peak, picture purposely small of twisty Itoigawa's in small containers on table and large containers on the ground.

Is this your adventure or are you posting something new coming down the road with someone else going into business? Either way this is a good deal.

I went back and looked through the progression pictures again. I wouldn't have seen this coming from the initial plants trunkline. This is easily one of my favorite trees I've seen posted on Bnut. I bought an itoigawa from Brent a couple years ago and transferred it from the one gallon can to a pond basket to grow out. I'd love to achieve something similar to this.

looking back at those first pictures... very nice job

Very nice!

How do you stop it from reverting to needle foliage? My ittoigawa keeps producing needles when I trim even less than 10% :(

The pot suits it well but I'm always put off by the shape and the hacking of the root that has to take place to remove it every repotting. How easy is it to get it out for repotting Brian?

And jacking....sorry Brian!

Marie...I made up this sketch for a solution for this...
Pink pot...the black being a colander material.
Yellow roots.

You could fill in the sides with coarse material.

It would take a crafty dressing hand....
But could totally work.

Horticulture, and pot safety first!

Oh this is derived from @Anthony slipping Colanders into regular pots...
Looked nice!
