Hm.. I am pretty sure it is pretty illegal to scan books and distribute copies.
Please respect the artist that also just wants to make a living and buy the book. The use google or some other cellphone service to read in your language?

Assuming you own the physical copy, and are not planning to distribute the translated files, Adobe Scan (other apps may work as well, this is just the one I know) allows you to scan pages/documents to turn into PDF format, it can automatically recognise the page borders to crop scans automatically, this may then allow you to scan and then translate the text as you wish? Just requiring you to scan each page first. Alternatively you can point your phone with google translate’s live camera translation feature at the book and take a screenshot of the translation? Or are these methods similar to what you are already doing?

Or you can simply use a tablet with a camera (and Google translate) and use your tablet to read the book in real time in any language you wish.
