Everything was looking good for one of my in ground tridents yesterday morning, not so much this morning after our hail storm last night, living in Texas in the spring can be brutal at times, and spring has just begun.

Ouch. That one has to hurt. But I understand Tridents to be pretty resilient, right? Now you just wait, I guess, and see what comes from nature's pruning sheers. Nice trunk, though.
I grew up near Sherman, TX, so I know all about the ice storms, hail, violent thunderstorms. At least we saw precipitation there, though.

Dang, I'm sorry that is tough! I just got an alert for 1" of hail and the clouds are looking different.. completely rethinking leaving everything out and uncovered.

I bet it’ll be slow, but fine as it looked pretty strong. Best of luck.

AOch. But the maple will be fine. Once it warms up it will green up soon enough

Hail is my nightmare I stress out when it’s in the forecast and when I hear it on the roof. Most of my trees are too large to move under cover easily

I have relatives in north Texas. One left his brand new white Mustang out in hailstorm ( baseball size). It looked like a golf ball after two minutes of the pounding🤣
