Hand-me-down JM

I realise they're from the same root.

You can slice the horizontal root, then graft/fuse tha two parts, if you see what I mean:

Then you can match the two cuts, tie them with raffia that will rot away while sealing takes - and the cuts will probably produce new roots that will improve the nebari.

Then, in this pot and position or any other, I think the trees will look as if they get along much better ;)

I'll try to remember all that!! Merci' Beaucoup

Really nice! I really like the planting angle and the work you did with the smaller rock!

I agree with Alain's point about bringing the trunks closer together to make a mother/child arrangement. Longer term I think you will want a different pot/container - the smaller rock seems to conflict with the larger stump/rock container it is in currently.

Thanks but I think that all will be relegated to the next owner. I like it just fine......until the spirit moves me again. It will make itself evident.

You have done great things with this material! The distance between the trees is unusual and unconventional and as such makes the composition more natural because it is slightly surprising to those of us accustomed to the more typical mother/daughter relationship. Perfection is found in the imperfect. Enjoy!

As a presentation, this has something... extra, and special for me. I like that it's so different but still well developed, angular yet balanced.

Annnnd, edit, I just went back to the beginning of the thread and see where you've taken this from the place it was. Like it even better now that I see where you brought this tree to.

Agree with all... This is a special transformation for lots of reasons. Something about bringing new energy to something that had grown tired that appeals to me. :-) What's more, you really grabbed Mother Nature's paintbrush here. Nothing looks forced or artificial. Well done!

Actually, when Jess gave it to me, I didn't really want it. She was an old friend from when I first started bonsai. I'm glad she got to see before she died last winter.

Knuckledragger here......did you get a cold snap last week? If so, did this go into some temporary protection?
Everything up here got zapped and that's that. Even stuff in the ground!!

Love'n the colors, man!:rolleyes::D:D:D:D:D
Container not quite my taste, but who cares.......and THAT'S that.:D:D:D:D
Imagine its quite impressive in person, just like me.....:p:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Very cool.:)

We had 17 F. I brought stuff in. Some of its back out waiting for the leaf drop. This thing still has a bit of the fungus and I don't want the leaves floating around in my garage. I'm not one for traditional container. I'm always ready to look at something new.
