Frustration with market

It’s funny you bought this bc when I was checking out their material I thought this seemed right up your alley based on trees I’ve seen from you. Will be interesting to see how you combine it with a pot and styling 👍
Yeah...fun project. I wasn't a trident lover...yet here I now have 3 tridents. A clump, a semi cascade and now this kind a neagari.

My traditional friend...didn't know what to think on it. 🙃🙂

😁 that made me smile. Thanks ya kindly.
I definitely have a signature style it seems... lol

I have a direction... I see a cascading longer branch grown out. That's about all the thought I gave it.

As far as pots.l go... my gerbil is thinking unglazed drum. I see a masculine tree here. But...its truly to early in its journey to say for sure.

FYI- Brussels has new JMs for under $200. Also, forgot that that Cadillactaste (I believe) introduced me to Schley’s - they carry some nice material as well.

My Trident clump came from Brussels...yet, Matt Smith was my go-to on it. I had saw several clumps online...he was my eyes..chose a different one than I was looking at as he ran down there. Ran it by me first of course.

Yes...Jason is my main go-to. Heck of a nice guy. I feel confident when I go to Jason. He definitely knows my style. All the years I've dealt with him. Schley's bonsai. a good source.

Ha! I was about to impulse buy one of these japanese maples and all sold out!
I just found him on Facebook. he's got a huge operation. If you had a dollar amount and something in mind. I would call him. Or the very least...email. his website definitely doesn't have his inventory like most sites.

Here is my frustration with the market today. I was about to place an order for 2 - 4" size starters from Cedar Rose, total $36 and they want $35 for shipping... I guess I will pass. Sucks because they have the best price on both the Prunus Incisa and Korean hornbeam I have been able to find. Will probably wait till Brent have some available.

Did you read their shipping information or contact them. It will make you pause because he uses a different company. Cheaper...and refunds difference. He even says to contact him.

Nope I did not... since their site provided several shipping quotes, with the one I mentioned been the lowest. I just sent them an email and will post what they reply. I pay $15 for the same amount of material from Brent, so I was expecting something similar. Brent uses USPS Priority, and I usually receive them in 3 days or less.

Yes, keep us posted. I'm curious. Yeah...I understand that mentality with the choices for shipping that's shown. I didn't question it with a tree. But for smalls. Yeah... that would make me pause too.

But I was trying to decide where he was located. That's how I came across the shipping info. As I was curious as it was a topic of its own to click on.

I received an email back from them the next day. He said they do refund after he actually ships the material. Quoted me 18-20 for 3 day UPS. I placed the order, and today I received the refund, shipping was $25 instead of $35, $5 more than quoted. I still think that it is a bit too much, I would had paid $15 at Brent's for 2 - 4" pots. I guess it kinda balances out since his material price is a little cheaper. Brent has the 4" Korean Hornbeam at $35. I will make a thread on them once I receive the material, I know Brent prune constantly to attain better ramification. Don't know how Cedar Rose train their cuttings/seedlings. Unless they have an FAQ on those as well... let me do some searching on their site. ;)

He does. The initial quote for shipping my tree was high, but I got a refund from him quick - basically when he shipped.
