Flowers 2022

Not sure if this qualifies for the thread 😂

When grouped like this, the smell of cherry cough syrup is intensified and it's magnificent 🥰

(I am storing pollen for cross-pollination & propagation, and my wife is going to try to experiment with infusing neutral-scent oils)

It is

Tabebuia Chrysotricha but purple kind.

Tabebuia rosea???

Thanks, I think you posted this one in bloom a year or two ago, it struck me, I asked then and forgot. I have now been told at least twice, hopefully I will remember. I did look up the genus in Wikipedia, the first step in my "burn it into my memory" process. The genus is in the Bignoniaceae, the same family with the locally native to Chicago Catalpa tree. Makes sense. Turn that flower white, and it does look a little like a Catalpa. Wikipedia says it has compound leaves with 5 leaflets, the central leaflet being the largest. This is quite different than Catalpa which has simple leaves, of enormous size too large for bonsai. I imagine the branching structure is somewhat coarse for bonsai use. That it is mostly used as a garden or street tree, rather than as bonsai.
Thanks.

Hehe yeah, I think its pretty decent tree for a Christmas cacti though, hes been training it for years!!
I have to say I was impressed when I saw it. Looks like a LOT of time and effort went into it! Sometimes we need a good dose of these quirky people to remind us not to take things so seriously!

I enjoyed the video actually, I have never watched his. I do find it odd that he didn't wire the tree into the pot.

He never wires them to the pot, also never uses wire to style he styles by pruning
Hmm, well it was still a good video. The result was good.
