Home Depot Juniper for my first time wiring! Probably wrong timing, too much at once, etc but really wanted to practice wiring and the juniper seemed like the hardiest guy to start with. Advice on wiring application, branch choice, shape, future recommendations for the plant all welcome!

I’d say you are correct! Likely not the best time to twist a juniper’s trunk… but what the hey, practicing wiring is a good thing and junipers are tough. Time will tell, but might not full sun the tree for 2-3 weeks..

Btw…Pretty good effort for the first time wiring! Please double check to ensure all growing tips are turned upward

A couple things I try to say over and over when wiring.
Same angle
Same spacing
No gaps in contact
Do not cross over wires.
Equal pressure.

Cheers

Pretty nice first attempt, and great practice. In addition to what DSD wrote above, I like to recommend this video to beginners (and really all the videos from Eric, especially if you like junipers)

Lol Thank you! I actually had seen this video already prior to doing this! But despite being armed with the knowledge it contains, I still couldn't help myself and ended up making a "pretty looking" first wire. 🙃 Next practice tree I'll try actually making the ugly chops and choices needed for the actual benefit of the tree instead of just playing around with shapes that I enjoyed. This one will stand in testament to remind myself what not to do!
