I’ve officially given up on trying to keep this one as a shohin . It was pushing the limits anyway with how much thickening I’m getting.

Repotted in spring as it started to grow aggressively into a flatter wider oval. I didn’t take any pics - just cleaned up the roots as normal.



Tree responded well. The signs I look for in this ficus for when it’s time to do bigger work is if it’s beginning to drop/yellow inner leaves in combination with new healthy growth at the tips of the canopy. With the heat coming on, I’ve got both.

Been a good summer. It put on fruits this year for the first time. Probably a hundred little 1cm sized figs.
