Feedback on my first video

It is just mad! Insane!

Started to rise some 6 weeks ago. Hit 1K 3 1/2 weeks ago. And now more than doubled. Must be doing something right!

Nope... not insane, rather normal.
Quality videos are passed on to others very quickly and results in high viewing rates and subscriptions

@leatherback
I saw your video about the $50.00 / € 50,00 bonsai challenge and I'm glad you said something like "what were they thinking, a bonsai challenge in the middle of summer".

I don't know most of the channels who are participating in the challenge but I saw the video of Nigel Saunders and I was surprised he didn't say anything about the timing.

I think your bonsai will be the only one still alive after a few months / next year. ;)

Thx, I had been really thinking about joining hard. Because it is a bad example, which is why I mentioned it so often in the video, that I had to edit out a lot of sentences.. I got tired of me saying, this is not the best time of the year myself!

I think many of the others will live. The benefit of nursery plants is that they are normally very healthy, been grown fast with decent rootballs. They take a lot, and we often are too concerned with the trees not surviving (Beginners advice: Take it slow).

One of our forum members however thought I was participating illegally and even found my trash talk to abusive. Can't please everyone I suppose.

I thought it was funny and felt it was obvious that you were concerned about the time of year. You participated anyways but held back on some things to not risk trees just to put out a video. That shows who you are and that your priority is the health of a tree over yt content.

It could just be a cultural thing. I've seen Walter talk about how he is very direct and tells people exactly what he thinks and most of the time it fine. However, Americans don't appreciate that and are easily offended so he chooses to hold back slightly. I wouldn't be too worried about it.

I'll tell you what;
this is definitely not the best time of the year.
And it's very good you made it clear for all beginners, so they don't get confused with conflicting information.

Aussie Bonsai Bloke won't have any problems, but yeah, a lot of that $50 challenge content involved trees that shouldn't be repotted in the middle of summer.

🤣

Nah, Not the way my last videos are being received. The big videos are all slowing down now that the propagation season is drawing to an end in northern hemisphere.

But propagation season will be ramping up in the southern hemisphere soon, and winter is coming in the north.
I imagine you're already planning a video or two on winter storage. Maybe a couple on keeping and displaying tropicals inside the house for winter will give you a boost.
